The 2nd edition Workshop on Data Analysis and Statistical Power using R

Introduction

The 2nd edition of the Four Days (30 hours) Workshop on ""Data Analysis and Statistical Power using R", was successfully organized by the Goa State Research Foundation (GSRF), Povorim, for PhD Research Scholars, from 11th to 14th February 2025 at the GSRF Conference-cum-Training Hall. As was for the first batch, the 2nd edition (for the 2nd batch of 21 participants from diverse disciplines) was facilitated by Dr. Pronoy Baidya as resource person. On the first day at the inaugural function, Prof. Savio Falleiro (Managing Director - GSRF) welcomed the participants; he also gave brief highlights on the role and objectives of the GSRF. Prof. Malapati Janarthanam (Chairperson - GSRF) then outlined the purpose for organizing the workshop. Prof. Bhushan Bhave, Principal, Vidhya Prabodhini College, Porvorim, was the Chief Guest at the Valedictory Programme. Prof. Savio Falleiro in his address thanked the Chief Guest and the Resource Person, and said that it was the endeavour of GSRF to promote research across Goa at all levels in different ways; he also congratulated the participants for their focused and interactive participation at the workshop. Chief Guest Prof. Bhave in his address commended the GSRF as well as the Resource Person for the meticulous initiation of research; he added that research on need-centric areas, aided with technological advancements and new research software, was the need of the hour. Certificates of participation were distributed by the Chief Guest at the end. Also present were Ms. Liza Fernandes Pereira (JDA - GSRF) and Asst. Prof. Klins Mendes (workshop-in-charge). Dr. Manoj Ibrampurkar, (Nodal Officer/Schemes - GSRF and Workshop Coordinator), compered the inaugural and the valedictory functions. Asst. Prof. Jayada Parab, proposed the final Vote of Thanks.
